The ketubah is a binding Jewish marriage contract signed on the wedding day before the chuppah ceremony. It outlines the groom’s halachic obligations to his bride, including financial responsibilities, respect, and support.

The ketubah is written in Aramaic — the legal language of the Talmud — and specifies the amount due to the bride in case of divorce or the husband’s death
